We are excited to announce that we will soon be starting beta testing on a new app!

We've been hard at work on a new tablet-friendly version of Conductor for Android that will start testing soon. Tentatively named "Conductor for Android Tablets" (catchy, huh?), this version supports Honeycomb's new tablet-specific features and is designed to take advantage of the extra screen real estate available for a richer user experience. A Honeycomb supported Android tablet (like the Motorola Xoom) is required to participate in the test.

Conductor for Android has been updated. We have refined the event listener to be a bit smarter about your phone or tablet's changing network situations, such as moving from 3G to WiFi. It is also a bit better aware of some rare situations that may cause excessive battery usage for some users.

If you're a user with multiple thermostats, you can now also access them by swiping left or right in the Heating & Cooling screen.

Another release for Conductor for Android dropped yesterday. You may have already seen it on the Android Market.

This update includes a few stability fixes and refinements, as well as a couple of new features:

• Locations: Connect to multiple ISY controllers in multiple locations
• Themes: Basic theme support, allowing you to choose between the default "dark" theme and a new "light" theme.

More cameras have been added and tested (See the list for details), and the functionality as a whole has been refined a bit.

The latest release for Conductor for Android has been released yesterday. You may have already seen it on the Android Market.

This update is a significant one! It includes two new often requested features:

• IP Camera Support: View camera streams/stills, control pan/tilt/zoom, associate with folders/rooms, and save snapshots to your SD card
• Widgets: Add Widgets to the home screen. Toggle status of frequently used devices, scenes, or programs

Please note that these two new features are currently considered beta. What that means is that we expect to enhance them soon based on your feedback and suggestions.

Some of the supported IP cameras have not been fully tested. Here's a list of the supported cameras. If you have a camera that is not on the list, please let me know. If you have any trouble with your camera, please contact support@conductorautomation.com and we'll help you get connected. Lastly, we'd also like to know if your "untested" camera works just fine so that we can check it off the list.

The update also includes a number of fixes and improvements.

The latest version has hit the Android Market! It contains a slew of enhancements and bug fixes. Most noteable among them are the addition of the Heating & Cooling screen which provides access to your INSTEON thermostats.

Also, for the Conductor for Windows Media Center beta testers out there, version 0.9.1101 is now available. This new version features a new, slimmer device view with new iconography. Please pick that up in the downloads section. You can also find the release announcement here.

We're extending the beta test period for Conductor for Android to 11/15/2010. Please download the latest version in the downloads section. It includes some minor tweaks and bug fixes and the foundation for some new features that we'll unvail upon Conductor's release on the Android Market.

Conductor for Android should be just about ready to go as soon as you install it, but you may need to tweak your setup on your ISY a bit to make things a bit easier to work with on your Android phone. Here are some tips for making Conductor work a bit better for you:

• Make sure to organize your lighting, devices, scenes and programs into folders to make things easier to find
• Be sure to confirm that your ISY is accessible from the internet via your phone's web browser when the phone isn't on your wireless network. Once you confirm that you can connect, use that URL (with the http/https and the port, if applicable) in Conductor's settings
• Hide unwanted or extraneous devices/scenes by choosing "Hide Masked Items" in the settings, then renaming the items you wish to hide so that they start with a tilde (~). Lastly, choose More > Refresh from the menu to make those items disappear
• Use More > Refresh from the menu to update your phone whenever you make any changes to devices, scenes or programs on your ISY
• Select a startup screen in the settings if you want to skip past the home screen upon startup
• Move items to the top of the list by marking them as a favorite. Additionally, favorite devices, scenes and programs will be listed in the Favorites screen accessed via the menu
